Bios, Props, Costumes, Pictures, and other need-to-knows!

Hey class!

We’re already halfway through rehearsals! Hard to believe huh? We’ve been working really hard and I’ve been seeing some real progress! Here are just a few reminders:

Tuesday, March 22nd: Tomorrow! I’ll be seeing Feste, Olivia, Viola, Toby, Andrew, and Fabiana. Try to read through the scenes at least a couple times before coming.

Thursday, March 24th: I’ll be seeing Sebastian, Toby, Andrew, Feste, Olivia, Malvolio, and the priest. Again, read through the scenes a few times beforehand.

Friday, March 25th: This is a very important rehearsal, so please don’t miss it. Here’s what’s happening on Friday:
·         It’s PICTURE DAY! (The schedule said picture day was this last Friday, but that was bad scheduling on my part.)  So come dressed for a picture.
·         Cast Bios due: Email your bios to me by this Friday. If you can’t email them, you can also give it to me written out by hand. I’ve talked to you all about how to do your bios, but here’s a refresher:
o   3rd person (“John is,” not, “I am”)
o   Age, (John is 14 years old,)
o   Previous acting experience, (He previously acted in “A Christmas Carol,” and, “Newsies,” or, “This is John’s first play, and he’s excited to be onstage.” Etc.)
o   Hobbies, talents, etc. (“John is a pro-golfer and he enjoys riding his unicycle as well as jugging flaming penguins.”)
o   Favorite thing learned in Shakespeare this last year. (“John has learned that the longest word Shakespeare ever used was “Honorificabilitudinitatibus.”)
o   People you’d like to thank. (“He would like to thank his parents for driving him to rehearsals as well as his director for always being right.”)
o   Which turns out to look something like:
§  “John is fourteen years old and has previously acted in “A Christmas Carol,” and, “Newsies,”and is excited to be back onstage. John is a pro-golfer and he enjoys riding his unicycle as well as jugging flaming penguins. He has learned that the longest word Shakespeare ever used was “Honorificabilitudinitatibus, and he would like to thank his parents for driving him to rehearsals as well as his director for always being right.”
·         MEMORIZATION DEADLINE: I hope you’ve all been working hard on your lines. This Friday we’ll be halfway through rehearsals, and only a week or so away from having blocked all of the scenes. You should have everything we’ve run through already memorized by Friday, and at the very least be extremely familiar with what we haven’t rehearsed. Some of you are already well on track, some of you aren’t. My recommendation is to just read through your scenes a gazillion times and then start running lines with siblings friends or parents.

On another note….

Props/set/costume deadline: I’ve attached my basic prop list for the play to the email I sent you all. It’s very simple in essence. Please look over it and take note of what your child needs, as well as anything you might own and are willing to lend for others. Wendie Greathouse and Hiedi Hogan are helping me organize these kinds of things, so if you have something you’re willing to lend, or for your child to use, please let me and them know:

Wendie Greathouse: Phone: 357-0113 – Email: weedy@mtaonline.net
Hiedi Hogan: Phone: Phone: 745-6569 – Email: earlyhstar@mtaonline.net

Thanks everyone for your support in this. It’s shaping up to be a wonderful performance! We’re almost there!
